Welcome to Car Racing Game! This guide will help you master the controls and gameplay mechanics.
Getting Started
To begin playing, visit the Play Game page and select your preferred game mode:
- City Road: Race through urban environments with buildings and street lights
- Off Road: Navigate challenging terrain with obstacles and rocks
Controls
Movement Controls
- Arrow Left or A: Move car left
- Arrow Right or D: Move car right
- Stay within the road boundaries to avoid collisions
Speed Controls
- W or ↑: Increase speed multiplier
- S or ↓: Decrease speed multiplier
- Speed multiplier ranges from 0.5x to 2.0x
- Game speed also increases automatically with your score
Gear System
- E or +: Shift gear up
- Q or -: Shift gear down
- Gears range from 1 to 5
- Higher gears provide better speed multipliers
- Gear multipliers: 1=0.3x, 2=0.5x, 3=0.7x, 4=0.9x, 5=1.1x
Brake System
- SPACEBAR or B: Apply brake
- Hold to reduce speed by 30%
- Useful when approaching obstacles or enemy vehicles
- Release to resume normal speed
Camera Controls
- C: Toggle between third-person and inside-car view
- Mouse Wheel: Zoom in/out (third-person view only)
- Inside-car view shows steering wheel and speedometer
Game Controls
- Pause Button: Pause/resume the game
- Restart Button: Restart the current game
- Menu Button: Access game settings (desktop only)
Mobile Controls
On mobile devices, touch controls are available at the bottom of the screen:
- Left Arrow (←): Move car left
- Right Arrow (→): Move car right
- BRAKE Button: Apply brake
- + Button: Shift gear up
- - Button: Shift gear down
Gameplay Tips
Scoring System
- Collect yellow point spheres to increase your score
- Point values vary by difficulty:
- Easy: 15 points per collectible
- Medium: 10 points per collectible
- Hard: 5 points per collectible
- Game speed increases every 100 points
- Avoid collisions with enemy vehicles and obstacles
Enemy Vehicles
- Enemy vehicles move in the opposite direction
- They change lanes randomly - watch out!
- Different vehicle types (cars, buses) have varying speeds
- Collision with any enemy vehicle ends the game
Obstacles (Off-Road Mode)
- Rocks and obstacles appear randomly on the road
- Use brakes and careful steering to avoid them
- Collision with obstacles ends the game
Difficulty Levels
- Easy: Slower enemy speed, fewer enemies, more points per collectible
- Medium: Balanced gameplay (default)
- Hard: Faster enemies, more enemies, fewer points per collectible
Advanced Strategies
Speed Management
- Start with lower speed to get comfortable with controls
- Increase speed gradually as you improve
- Use higher gears for maximum speed
- Brake before tight situations
Lane Positioning
- Stay in the center lane when possible for more reaction time
- Watch enemy vehicles - they change lanes unpredictably
- Plan your moves ahead of time
Collectible Strategy
- Don't risk collisions just to collect points
- Collect points when safe to do so
- Higher scores unlock faster speeds automatically
Game Over
When you collide with an enemy vehicle or obstacle, the game ends. Your final score will be displayed, and you can click "Play Again" to restart with a fresh game.
